It isn't anything to do with FilesNotToBackup, as I've tried clearing that out.

I haven't verified this exhaustively (as you say, there's a heap of files not getting backed up) but it's certainly true of every one I've looked at, and I haven't found All of the files not being backed up appear to have a corresponding copy in \windows\system32\dllcache. Click Start, click Run, type cmd, and then click OK.This brings up a command prompt window. 2. An older active writer session state is being overwritten by a newer session.

An example of English, please! If I turn on "Disabled Volume Shadow Copy" in ntbackup I no longer get the above VSS event, but it still doesn't backup the files. The most common cause is that the number of parallel backups has exceeded the maximum supported limit. At least on my system, there's a shellstyle.dll in each of those.

My discovery that the Shadow Copy isn't working and not all of my files are getting backed up rather compromises the idea. NTBACKUP would not even start copying files, just stick on the contacting Volume Shadow Copy service message, then exit, having stopped the vss service too.

Now try to backup uninstalled & Q is indeed gone. Assign the Backup Operators group read permission to the VSS service through GPO (or any other way). The report you posted doesn't list the .DLLs in the Homestead, Metallic, & NormalColor subfolders of Luna\Shell.
