Re: Setup cannot continue. I tried numerous suggested fixes, but your suggestion to add the offending disk to another VM and chkdsk on it worked! On further troubleshooting , found out that it was trying to install on the D drive ( which is the DVD drive). When attempting to install the VMware Tools package, it fails with the error: Setup cannot continue.
