And is it 32bit (x86) or 64bit (x64) Sounds to me like your installing wrong version. Tried to install- no go: (KB948465) - (KB955430)- "Installation was not successful" Catastrophic Failure/ Error E_UNEXPECTED(0x8000ffff). Run Command Prompt as administrator a) Start Menu -> All Programs -> Accessories b) Right click on Command Prompt and select Run as administrator 2.
