Please reinstall the kernel module by executing '/etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup' as root. Still, there is no vboxdrv in /etc/init.d. Would you like to answer one of these unanswered questions instead? The virtualbox version I installed was 4.3.14. Vboxdrv: Unrecognized Service Why does it not do this originally? If the problem persists, you may want to download and install the latest v4.2.2 version directly from https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads (for kernel 3.6.* and below).
The answer I selected as "The answer" is selected because the install from the site worked, and I would not have thought of it, since I thought it were the same

You signed out in another tab or window. Modprobe only loads a module with the dependent modules.
